As a member of the Arts Program (AP) team, the Arts Coordinator reports to the Arts Program Director who sets and prioritizes the Consultant’s work assignments, regularly evaluates job performance and shares such information with the Chief Operating Officer.

The Coordinator will work 40 hours weekly to perform the following duties and others as assigned: assisting the AP Director in screening and identifying new AP artist educators and partner organizations; guiding the development and submission of residency goals, curriculum descriptions, sample lesson plans, culminating events, and artist bios consistent with the established AP format; coordinating the site selection process with the arts service provider, Travelling Staff, Site Coordinators, and school principals to assure interest in the proposed residency and optimal conditions (assignment of appropriate classrooms, auditoriums, multipurpose rooms, secure outdoor areas, etc.), access to water, restrooms, etc.; planning and coordinating the artists’ motivational introductory presentations to students; processing AP invoices and orders through the department invoicing and order database; assuring compliance with AP guidelines for student selection, parent support, class size, regular attendance, etc.; assisting with the selection and training of AP part-time staff troubleshooting to identify and resolve operational problems in collaboration with Travelling Staff, Site Coordinators, and school personnel; assisting with culminating events as needed; regularly observing and reporting on residency activities, issues, challenges, and successes to the AP Director; collecting and updating logistical AP residency information regarding attendance, observation notes, residency schedules, residency costs, etc.; support compliance with AP Evaluation Plan requirements; serve as AP point person for AP and self-funded AP partner organizations assist the AP Director by providing leadership and administrative oversight as described in #1 – 13 above of AP residencies, related programs and provide additional support as needed.

Salary will start at about $40k, plus benefits. Office is located near downtown Los Angeles
