The primary purpose of this position is to identify and sell museum programs (classes, tours and customized packages) to group tour organizations, senior centers, living communities and other senior markets, as appropriate. The Sales Associate will be responsible for increasing sales in senior classes, programs, admissions and membership by 25% each year. Sales initiatives include, but are not limited to establishing and maintaining productive relationships with senior organizations and enhancing underdeveloped opportunities within existing clientele.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Engage in proactive calling and out-of-office direct sales activity to establish productive sales relationships
• Target and reach out to senior centers, retirement communities and other senior venues in the region
• Analyze the effectiveness of current and new sales, methods, costs, and results
• Track and maintain existing, new, and prospective sales data
• Seek out and work with external sales and/or promotional partners (area restaurants, attractions, tour operators, cultural institutions, etc.) to reach and serve broader senior constituencies
• Collaborate with museum staff, volunteers and/or community partners to target a broader senior constituency who can deliver the museum’s marketing messages, while collaborating in sales initiatives
• Other duties as assigned
• Conduct all responsibilities in a safe manner according to regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.)

Education and/or Experience
Minimum of A.A degree is required (B.A. preferred); plus three years of sales experience (preferably in the arts, entertainment, travel and/or tourism industries); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
